How To Check And Replace A PCV Valve

As with any piece of old equipment, regular maintenance is important. Simple mechanical pieces, such as valves, can rob you of much wanted power that you have worked hard to earn. So, as your Sport Compact gets older, don't give up on it. Just learn how, and what, you need to replace.

Today, we're going to take a look at the PCV Valve, and review a couple of test that you can do on the valve to see if it's working. Then we'll look at what it will take to actually replace it.

Our test subject for today is my 1990 Honda CRX HF with a JDM spec D16A6 motor swap. On most 80's -mid 90's Honda Civic's the PCV Valve is pretty similarly located. Even if you have a different Sport Compact Car, this test, and replacement method should be fairly applicable.
