Budget Performance: Changing Your Air Filter

If you came here thinking that I was talking about upgrading to a cold air, or Ram air intake, sorry... That's not the topic for today. Today's topic is all about super budget performance. It's about renewing your air filter.

See, there is a whole Pro's and Con's list for using the factory air box over an after market intake, and visa versa. Thing is though, it doesn't matter what intake you choose to use, if you don't have a clean filter on it, it's not going to give you the maximum performance you want, or that it could provide. So, yeah, if you're chasing ponies, our you just want your fun to drive Sport Compact, to be, well... fun to drive, PUT A CLEAN AIR FILTER IN IT.

To help you with this task, here's a short and simple episode about how to change your air filter.

If you need a good price on an air filter for your car, you may find what you're looking for here.

How And Why: Changing Your Motor Ground

A lot of people work on their cars, almost daily, and never really think about checking their motor ground. However, there are a number of good reasons to do check it. One very important reason, is that with time and wear, your motor ground can become loose, frayed, or even disconnect all together. All of which will bring the most built of motors to it's knees.

So, here's the deal basically. A ground strap/cable for your Sport Compact is more than like 1 of 2 different kinds of strap/cable. It's either a wire strand cable (having a bunch of fine wires wound together, making a cable), or it's an actual strap (this is a bunch of braided wires that make a flat, flexible, strip of wiring). Both are commonly used on cars, and both can wear with time. As these wire, they weaken, and the strands will eventually begin to break. Once enough wires have broken, your problems begin.

If you need a ground strap for you engine, you can find them via this link. (amazon afiliate link)

So, Thanks for Stopping by! I really hope you enjoyed the show, and series.
